“Well that mighty fine little label has gone and done something super special – This thing sparkles.” – PASTA PRIMAVERA

“Similar to the combo of hallucinogenic drugs and Magic Eye pictures, sometimes applying a kaleidoscopic filter can actually make more sense of a mind-meltingly trippy experience. All in all, it’s a symphony of radness.” – 8/10 THE GRID

BLACK MOTH SUPER RAINBOW
(Sun Lips original track from Dandelion Gum  //  itunes)

Black Moth Super Rainbow (occasionally abbreviated as BMSR) is an American experimental electronic band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The project is currently composed of frontman, singer, and songwriter Tobacco whose vocals are often altered via a vocoder; keybordist The Seven Fields of Aphelion, who often performs with a classic monosynth; drummer Iffernaut; guitarist Ryan Graveface; and bassist Pony Driver. BMSR’s music contains elements of psychedelia, folk, electronica, pop, and rock. Their distinctive sound is characterized by analog electronic instruments including the vocoder, Rhodes piano and Novatron.

“Deep in the woods of western Pennsylvania vocoders hum amongst the flowers and synths bubble under the leaf-strewn ground while flutes whistle in the wind and beats bounce to the soft drizzle of a warm acid rain. As the sun peeks out from between the clouds, the organic aural concoction of Black Moth Super Rainbow starts to glisten above the trees.” – Dandelion Gum insert
