BREEZE // YOU’VE DECIDED (VIDEO) SOUR GRAPES (ALBUM)

BREEZE, the band headed by Toronto go-to producer and engineer Josh Korody (of BELIEFS and NAILBITER), returns today with a new Adam Seward directed video and the announcement of the band’s new LP Sour Grapes, out December 8th via Hand Drawn Dracula.

Breeze’s “You’ve Decided” is all about watching someone alienate themselves due to their overreliance on ego and a blind adherence to their own idea of what is right. Korody sings about this person losing touch with reality, digging every inwards, on top of a deeply dance-able 90s groove. Speaking to “Never Gave You”, Korody writes; “‘You’ve Decided’ is about when a person is so self involved that when it comes to large decisions/issues they can’t see logic or obvious truth clearly. And sometimes that one decision can really create a boundary and alienate themselves. When it gets to the point where you think everyone is wrong is but you, that’s usually when you really need to look outside of yourself.”

Sour Grapes builds upon the 90s-inspired sound of their previous album Only Up, which received critical acclaim from the likes of CBC Music, Pitchfork, CLASH, KEXP, NPR, Stereogum and more. Originally a solo project led by Toronto-based producer Josh Korody (known for his production work with Dilly Dally, Weaves, Tess Parks, Fucked Up, Tallies, Fake Palms, and more), Breeze has since evolved into a full band following their debut performance for a KEXP Live At Home Session. The new album was was mastered by Mark Gardiner of RIDE, and promises an exciting direction for the anticipated full-length LP and full band follow-up to Only Up. [photo: Desiree DasGupta]
